Research:
My research has been focused primarily on warfare and military technology in the Later Middle Ages but my interests extend to include the history of the Crusades, as well as the portrayal of medieval combat in games and movies - especially Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop games.
My next project will be on the Hundred Years War, specifically the 15th century phase of the conflict. I’m still in the early stages of research, expanding my knowledge of the historiography of the period and accumulating books at a rate faster than I am able to read them.
Other Writing:
A full copy of my PhD thesis, The Technological Development of the Bow and the Crossbow in the Later Middle Ages, can be accessed via Trinity College’s Tara database.
It is also available on my Academia.edu page along with a list of my other publications.
I am also a contributor to the popular online history forum r/AskHistorians under the username Valkine. You can read a selection of my previous answers via my Flaired User Profile.
